We’ve all heard that the most successful people out in the marketplace are the ones that take massive action.
I might just be lazy… but I don’t think that “massive action” is a sustainable way to do business.
And I think that’s why so many people go through a roller coaster ride of productive, not productive, productive, not productive.
If you’re an entrepreneur, you probably have quite a few examples of doing this. I know I do.
I believe that decisive action, on the other hand, is quite sustainable.
So how do the two differ?
In my book, massive action is kind of like throwing it up against the wall and seeing what sticks.
Most of the action is wasted on things that don’t produce results.
With the huge number of new ways to communicate and build a business, including things like social media, blogs, etc… the “wall” that you throw stuff up on is getting way too big for anyone to fill up.
So you end up feeling pretty drained after a period of “massive action.”
And then your action slows down… but so do the results… so you gear up for another round of “massive action.”
Eventually, you burn out.
Decisive action is more like those guys that can drive a nail into a board in a single hit.
Not much action, just a ton of results.
Decisive action takes more skill. You have to be smarter. You have to be more intuitive. You have to have more clarity.
For me, those are the most valuable business skills for the coming years.
Knowledge, intuition, clarity.
What type of action do you fill up your day with?

It sort of sounds like you are describing the 80/20 rule or by now the 95/5 rule :)
