1. What’s your biggest business accomplishment and what did you learn from it?

I would say that speaking at Yanik Silver’s Underground Seminar was definitely up there… for those who don’t know, it is one of the biggest events in the marketing world, 300+ in the audience, $2,000 a ticket, and was being recorded for DVD.

Now, the backstory is that public speaking was my biggest fear in life, I literally went white when I was first asked to speak on stage…so this was a big deal for me… I don’t think I slept for the days leading up to it, but it turns out that it went well, and I actually enjoyed it a LOT.

Here is what I learned from it:

  1. Action is the fastest way to overcome fear.
  2. Very little is worth doing from within the comfort zone.
  3. Authority is something that can be gained very easily, if you are willing to do the things your competitors are not.
  4. That little voice in our heads is there for good reason, but sometimes, it is best to ignore it (don’t fight it), and move through the voices with ACTION.

2. Favorite Book EVER and Why:

I am sure that previous people you have interviewed have said things like ‘Think and Grow Rich”, “Rich Dad Poor Dad” etc… but I tend to get more lessons from biographies and stories of people’s lives… for example, there is a book entitled: “Angela’s Ashes” that makes me grateful for everything I have in life… I take business lessons from Richard Branson’s autobiographies, and how to deal with competitors from Lord Alan Sugar’s autobiography.

3. What’s one thing people online don’t know about you that you’d like to share?

Behind the scenes, I help experts convert leads into sales on autopilot, it has been getting huge results, and I work with many marketers, authors, coaches, consultants etc behind the scenes. I am really proud of the results we get, but it isn’t something I really talk about publicly, as it is not for everyone.

4. What’s one mistake that you see business builders making online and what should they do instead?

Too many people are opportunistic and not strategic… I was guilty of this for many years, so I can see it all around me… basically, people jump from idea to idea, and are always looking for the next opportunity… they often rarely complete a project, and so the cycle continues.

5. If you started over building your business today, what’s the ONE thing you’d do differently?

I spent a lot of time running the digital race, but not crossing the finish line enough times.

What I mean by that is this, I did great blog posts, had viral successes, hundreds of interviews, loads of networking, guest blogging etc…. and that was all great, but without a method of conversion, it simply won’t translate into cash.

You can’t go to the bank and cash a cheque based on reputation unfortunately… so I would go back in time and start doing regular webinars to give massive value and convert leads into sales regularly.

I do webinars a lot now, and am the go-to guy for a LOT of the A-listers in the marketing and business world, webinars are one of THE most underrated business tools I have ever seen.
